Loot!

Well, between yesterday and today I've spent a month's worth of rent. I feel pretty good about today's, though, as opposed to yesterday's. I went to G-Field and bought up pretty much their entire stock of shoes. And then I hit ColdLogic and went a little less crazy, but still invested in their future. Anyway, two outfits today.

First, what I went shopping in, which I like... but. The skirt panel just doesn't match up. I think it's a mesh/non-mesh thing. So I rarely wear it. The shoes are a pair I got today from the above mentioned G-Field. And those shoes are just the beginning to the cute shoes I acquired today.



Now. The theme at the club today (because Thursdays are always theme days down at Destiny) is "Mafia." And I thought, "Dear God, where do I even begin."

So. I started with Marketplace. I simply put in "mafia," and got a whole lot of results. I quickly got the idea. Then I found a lace dress that was not really mafia like, but that I figured MIGHT work in some fashion. Then I remembered this hair from Truth that had a fedora. THEN I remembered a garter from LOULOU&Co that had a gun in it. And then finally, I already had a tie. The end result?



I gotta say, I love this outfit more than pretty much any outfit I've put together recently. And it's WAAAAAAAAAY slutty. I think that says a whole lot about me.

Holy Balls

I had one goal while dressing today. One. To put together an outfit that I could both wear to the club and outside of the club. Seems simple enough, right? It probably would be if I was someone else.

I spent a freaking fortune putting this thing together. First, I started with the skirt and top, (which is actually just the top of a tube dress) which I already owned. Then I decided it needed a sweater, but I didn't have one that worked. I did, however, have a little shrug from Boom that looked good, but it was in the wrong color. So I picked it up in tan (125L). Then, because I'm working on my hair collection, since I've changed colors, I spent an hour trying on hair and then picked up two from Wasabi Pills (500L for two hairs.) So far, this is acceptable. The hair is an investment, and the sweater was pretty cheap.

Now is when things go off the rails. The outfit is just kind of... meh. So I decide I need a pair of socks. But they need to be over the knee socks. I don't have any that really work. So I turn to marketplace and look up Miel, because they usually have exactly what I need. And lo and behold, a pair of socks like I'm picturing! I buy them in brown (225L). I put them on. The color is all wrong. I return to MP and buy them in maroon (225L). The color now works, but something is still really off.

I decide it's a shoe problem. I need a pair of boots. I go back to Miel. I buy their new boots (525L). I put them on. I decide I hate the socks and remove them.

I weep for the state of my brain and decide I hate the entire outfit but refuse to change. So here you go. And the grand total of what I spent on ONE outfit? 1600L. Oy.



On a side note though, Wasabi Pills has cute mesh hair. And I actually like their reds. So score!

Everything's Coming Up... Red?

Yeah, I'm having hair color issues. I want to go red, but my favorite hair place doesn't have any reds that I really like... which is what I'm wearing in the picture below. So I don't know.

Anyway! Today was dedicated (however unwittingly) to clothes that I have but bought and never wore. First, I wanted to put together an outfit that I couldn't go to work in. In other words, not slutty. Then I couldn't figure out what to wear, because I don't have a lot of clothes that aren't slutty, it turns out. Scandalous.

But then I remembered this mesh dress from Maitreya that I bought ages and ages ago! So I threw that on with a triumphant feeling! And then realized I had to come up with the rest of the outfit and fell back to the ground. But then! I remembered these pumps I picked up from some fair that I got at Ingenue and have also never worn. And then... jewelry. A daunting task on the best of days. Luckily, I ran across this fur stole that I picked up at Mimikri so long ago that I barely even remember buying it, and I thought it went rather nicely!

And then I traveled around from sim to sim, but that's a story for another day. Getting dressed in a respectable fashion is hard work!

Let's see how long I'm back for this time, shall we?

It's been unseasonably warm here lately... Really beautiful, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early for this warm nonsense. But because of it, I felt the need to dress up very summery, even though it's really pretty early. I got bit by the shopping bug today and picked up this dress and pulled out the flip flops.



I'm getting an itch to change my hair color again. I don't know if it'll pass... I'm kind of hoping it does, because it's a lot of work every time I change. It's amazing how I've had the same skin and shape forever, but I can't seem to keep a hair color for longer than a few months. I'm such a nerd.

Argh

Tonight was an exercise in frustration. Tiny little ones that have no bearing on my actual life whatsoever, but are annoying nonetheless. First, and really, keep in mind that I am actually aware that this does not matter, but am annoyed despite of it, these pants go with nothing that I own. This outfit? Does not look like much, but it still took me an hour to put together, and I had to go out and BUY the shirt. And it STILL doesn't look all that great.

So then I decide to take a picture so I can blog it (because damned if I'm going to waste that hour putting it together without SOME payoff) and SL won't let me save a picture to my hard drive. Again. Finally? I emailed the picture to myself and saved it from there. It is RIDICULOUS. And the picture's lousy, but seriously, I don't care at this point. Even my avatar is clearly frustrated.



Meh, stupid leather pants of cuteness that go with nothing. Why did you have to tempt me with your hotness and then make it so difficult to pair you up? WHYYYYYYY.

I managed to hit the Vintage Fair for a hot minute today... lag's still awful, but it was manageable. Most everything I'm wearing is from there... but they have SO MUCH. It's amazing.



I switched it up today and used my bedroom. Oh yeah. I'm creative.

But Baby, it's Cold Outside!

I had to dress up all wintery for a picture today, and I liked my outfit so much that I didn't want to take it off, even though it's a little bit early for quite this wintery of clothing.

Don't ask me what I'm doing in this picture, for I do not know. I look dorky, and I don't care, because I still look cute.



Look, I even got off my ass and actually tracked down a sim instead of snapping a picture in my living room! And actually, it's a really cool sim, check it out.

Okay, now I have a little bit of a rant. I've been trying to get to the vintage fair for days. Now, I love fairs. They're a bunch of awesome rolled up into one big place, and in the words of Gracie, "I'll put up with a hell of a lot of lag for a fair." And I've never been to a fair that DIDN'T have a lot of lag. But... it's usually SOMEWHAT manageable. Now, the vintage fair? I can't move. Literally. I land there, and I'm stuck. I can't even tp OUT. I don't know what the issue is, and I know 90% of it is likely not their fault, because people waltz in, with their high script hair and shoes and stupid skirts, as if anyone there can even SEE them, when you can't see shit. But there has to be SOMETHING they can do, whether it's more restarts, or what, because I have never been to a fair with lag this bad.
