Yard Sale and a Meme!

And because this wasn't a long enough post already, I decided to do Strawberry Singh's meme for the first time ever:

Meme instructions: Answer the following questions about windlight settings and share some that you’ve created yourself.

Do you use windlight while taking pictures? If not, why not? Always.

When taking a closeup snapshot for a profile picture, which windlight preset do you use most often? It really depends... Most of the time when I'm taking a portrait I don't bother with shadows, so I usually use the CalWL one, which is still my favorite for tooling around SL in. If I am bothering with shadows, then I mess around with a couple of different ones... I usually end up using one of the Strawberry ones.

Which windlight presets do you use for full body portraits? That depends on A LOT of things. Sometimes my mood, sometimes the outfit, and/or the location. Generally speaking, I use either one of Luna's, one of Strawberry's, or one of my own. I'll also play around with some of the presets on FS, and I've used some of Torley's and some of the Phototools ones.

If you do landscape photography, which windlights do you use for that most often? I never really do landscape photography, but if I'm at a location taking a fashion shot, if I think the sim's lighting is flattering to the landscape, I'll play around with it or add a facelight if I have to, to try and knock out the shadows on my face.

Do you have any tricks or tips that you could share for using Windlight effectively? I'm not exactly a great photographer, so any tricks I have are things I've picked up that are probably pretty mediocre... haha. All I can ever say is play with your windlights. It doesn't matter whose I'm using, I always end up changing something on it to try and make it work best for the picture I'm taking.

This is not a proud moment for me. I remember buying this dress. I remember choosing the color. I know where it's from. But I'm 90% sure I got it at an event, and I have no idea what event that was. This last month has consisted of me running to stores and events and grabbing things, then letting them just sit in my inventory instead of posting them like I should, because I just haven't really been able to blog. You Forgave, and I Won't Forget

One of the things I enjoy doing in SL is going around and gathering a bunch of demos. I stick them into my trusty little folder aptly named, "Demos," and then I either go home and try them all on, or wait until another time to do so. After I've tried them on, if I find that I like something, I'll put it into another folder, this one named, "Stuff to Buy." I am creative.

Now, what generally happens at this point, is my "Stuff to Buy" folder gets bigger and bigger, because it will sometimes take me a while to actually go and buy things. Then, one day, I think, "I need to clear that out!" And I go and spend a fortune clearing out my folder. :\

Today was one of those days. I can't even regret it though, because I really love everything I got. And this is a simple little outfit I threw together with a few of my spoils.


The hair thing is actually a brooch I modded... I used two, and the one I brought down until it was just a little lightening streak in my hair. Time consuming, but cute.

She Only Loves Her Stereo

I cleaned up at FLF this week! The pants, rug, and pose are all from stores participating this time. The pose is cute, and from a new to me store called Flowey. It's really good that things like this take me to new pose stores, because I'm too lazy to go looking myself. I'm really a terrible blogger.

I also picked up some cute little books from What Next, but I couldn't figure out how to cram them into the picture. But since they're from What Next, I think you can take my word for it that they're great.

It's All Mixed Up

Hucci has this cute little romper... thing... out right now, which I quite like. There was a weird issue with the alpha, though, where it bleeds down on the inside of the left thigh a little. I should have taken a picture, but I didn't. Fortunately, I'm able to wear the small size in this without the alpha, so it didn't matter too much in the end. And since this one was a group gift, it may very well have other alpha options in the ones at the store.

Wrap Yourself Around Me

I made it to SL Fashion Week yesterday. Some cute stuff there! There was, however, a skirt there that looked adorable, but didn't have a demo.

Creators, I love you, and I love all that you do, and appreciate how much work you put into your creations. But I'm begging you, BEGGING you, to please always include a demo. And I know that at special events you probably only have a limited amount of prims to work with, but the problem is that when I see something mesh without a demo, then I just won't buy it. I'll walk away, no matter how cute it is. I've bought without demos before, and it has always ended up being a mistake. Certain things don't fit me right, or my body type, and it just doesn't work on me. I really want to give you money. Please help me do so.

Moving on! These sweatpants are super cute. Or, as my Aussie friend would call them, trackydaks. I think she may have made up that word, though, and then added a wiki page to support her fake word. But now every time I see a pair of track or sweatpants, I call them trackydaks in my head because she said it like 1500 times while trying to make her fake word real. :(

I made my way to Sassy today and fell in love with this suit. Then I spent half an hour debating which color to get and I ended up with black. It's hard being me.

I also messed around with windlights today... As you can tell. It's all very pink. I need to fiddle with it more, but it was getting late and I wanted to take the picture, so I did, but it's clearly a work in progress. Just like meeeeeeeeeeee.
